Sisters of Mary on GSN American Bible Challenge

The American Bible Challenge season two Last August, GSN introduced a new game show titled, “The American Bible Challenge” hosted by comedian Jeff Foxworthy where teams compete by answering questions based on the best-selling book of all time, The Holy Bible.   Instead of playing for personal riches, cash prizes are awarded to charitable organizations selected by the teams. The questions are posed in an entertaining and humorous way, ranging from the (seems to be) obvious to the obscure.   If you’re one of the over 13 million viewers who tuned in last fall, you might be excited to know that Season 2 premieres tomorrow night, Thursday, March 21, at 8 p.m. central time. Sneak previews available online reveal that a trio of habited sisters from The Dominican Sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist , will compete as Team Sisters of Mary, for retired sisters of the order.   In the previews, Sister Peter Joseph (novice), Sister Maria Suso (professed sisters) and Sister Evan

The Lord Your God is with you

Last year when my oldest daughter was struggling with serious anxiety issues, her therapist gave her this scripture to hold close to her heart in prayer.   The Lord your God is with you,   He is mighty to save.  He will take great delight in you,   He will quiet you with His love,   He will rejoice over you with singing.   Zephaniah 3:17 Zephaniah 3:17 Isn't it perfectly reassuring? When I read it for the first time last year, I smiled.  These words wrap you up in God's perfect love.  We should hand over our worry to Him because He loves us.   This scripture verse was wonderfully appropriate and calming for a ten year old wrapped up in anxiety and worry.    We found that it not only calmed her fears in her difficult moments, but it also soothed my soul as a mother struggling with the inability to prevent my child's suffering.  What is your go to Bible verse when handling worry or anxiety? "The Bible, the made-for-TV video, seeks to introduce a new generation to the Bible, the great book of the works of God. It does so with great passion, exquisite skill and cinemagraphic triumph. My hope is that this video presentation, The Bible, may bring alive its many stories in people’s minds and hearts so that they may be drawn to rediscover the Bible and rejoice in its saving message."
